1. English-daji: (informal addressee-lowering) A sentence-final ending used when the speaker confirms and asks questions about a fact that he/she already knows.

   (두루낮춤으로) 말하는 사람이 이미 알고 있는 사실을 확인하여 물을 때 쓰는 종결 어미.

   • 너희 학교 농구 팀은 작년에 이어 올해도 우승했다지?
   • 자네 어릴 때 잃어버린 여동생을 몇십 년 만에 만났다지?
   • 승규네 삼촌은 나이가 마흔인데 아직 결혼할 생각이 없다지?

   (두루낮춤으로) 이전에 들은 어떤 사실을 듣는 사람에게 다시 묻거나 확인하여 말할 때 쓰는 표현.

   • 지수 조카가 인형처럼 귀엽다지?
   • 꽃샘추위 때문에 이번 주에는 춥다지?
   • 민준이는 우등상을 받아서 요즘 기분이 좋다지?
