1. English-dadeonde: An expression used to mention what the speaker heard from another person and relate it to the following content.

   다른 사람으로부터 들은 사실을 언급하면서 뒤의 내용을 관계 지어 말함을 나타내는 표현.

   • 이 문제는 어렵다던데 우리 같이 풀어요.
   • 주말에 날씨가 좋다던데 뭐하실 거예요?
   • 승규는 점심 약속 있다던데 누구를 만나는지 아세요?

2. English-dadeonde: (informal addressee-lowering) An expression used to indirectly express what the speaker wants to say, by conveying what the speaker heard, in an unfinished sentence.

   (두루낮춤으로) 이전에 들은 사실을 여운을 남기면서 전달함으로써 말하고자 하는 바를 간접적으로 나타낼 때 쓰는 표현.

   • 강원도는 많이 춥다던데.
   • 밀가루 음식은 위에 안 좋다던데.
   • 입사 시험에서는 외국어 실력이 중요하다던데.
