1. English-geonmaneun: A connective ending used when the actual result is different from the result that was anticipated from the preceding statement.

   앞에 오는 말로 인해 기대되는 결과와 다른 결과가 일어남을 나타내는 연결 어미.

   • 그는 부자이건마는 남을 돕는 데에 인색하다.
   • 선생님은 몸도 안 좋으시건마는 우리를 기차역까지 마중 나오셨다.
   • 삼촌은 집이 두 채나 있건마는 할아버지께 살기 힘들다고 하소연을 했다.
