1. English-lmangjung: A connective ending used when admitting to the preceding negative fact and adding another fact that is the opposite of it.

   앞에 오는 말이 나타내는 부정적인 사실을 인정하면서 그와 반대되는 다른 사실을 이어 말할 때 쓰는 연결 어미.

   • 나는 도시에 살망정 시골 고향 마을을 잊은 적이 없다.
   • 민준이는 가장 어릴망정 자기 형들보다 의젓한 데가 있었다.
   • 국밥 한 그릇일망정 춥고 배고팠던 나에게는 진수성찬과도 같았다.

2. English-lmangjung: A connective ending used to express the assumption that a certain negative situation will occur and emphasize the following statement that is the opposite of it.

   어떤 부정적인 상황을 가정하여 나타내면서 그와 반대되는 뒤의 말을 강조할 때 쓰는 연결 어미.

   • 차라리 가난하게 살망정 비굴하게 살지는 않겠다.
   • 내 죽음을 당할망정 너희에게 무릎을 꿇지는 않겠다.
   • 감독은 열심히 뛴 선수들에게 격려는 못해 줄망정 오히려 크게 꾸짖었다.
