1. Englishpest; black plague: A contagious disease mostly spread by mice, whose symptoms include a fever, headache, vomiting, chills, etc., and which may lead to death as the skin of the patient becomes dark and the patient loses consciousness.

   주로 쥐에 의해 전염되고, 고열, 두통, 구토, 오한 등의 증세가 나타나며 피부가 검은빛으로 변하고 의식이 흐려져 죽는 전염병.

   • 페스트 증상을 보이던 환자가 하루 만에 사망했다.
   • 중세 때 유럽은 치명적인 페스트로 수많은 인구를 잃었다.
   • 페스트 감염.
