1. Englishcorrespondent: In a newspaper company, broadcasting company, etc., a person who is sent to another city in the country or a foreign country, where he/she reports local news to the headquarters.

   신문사나 방송국 등에서, 지방이나 외국에 보내져 그곳의 소식을 본사에 전하는 사람.

   • 작년에 중국으로 파견된 통신원이 한국으로 중국의 상황을 전해 왔다.
   • 다른 나라의 일을 보도해야 할 일이 생기면 각 신문사는 통신원과 연락을 시작한다.
   • 통신원이 되다.
