1. Englishgene: The factor in a living creature that contains the information necessary for the composition and maintenance of cells and that is delivered to the offspring, through reproduction.

   생물체의 세포를 구성하고 유지하는 데 필요한 정보가 담겨 있으며 생식을 통해 자손에게 전해지는 요소.

   • 유전자 검사 결과 아버지와 나는 친부자 관계가 아니라는 사실이 드러났다.
   • 유전자가 남들과 다르거나 남들보다 적거나 많으면 고치기 어려운 질병에 걸릴 위험이 높다.
   • 모든 생물은 유전자에 의해 눈 색깔, 혈액형, 유전 질환과 같은 다양한 유전 형질을 갖고 태어난다.
