noun冬至[동지]

1. Englishdongji: One of the 24 seasonal divisions, said to have the longest night of a year; it falls on December 22nd; on this day, people cook patjuk, red-bean porridge, and sprinkle the porridge on doors or walls little by little to drive away evil spirits.

   일 년 중 밤이 가장 긴 날로 이십사절기의 하나. 12월 22일경이다. 귀신을 쫓기 위해 붉은 팥으로 죽을 쑤어 먹고 문이나 벽에 팥죽을 조금씩 뿌리는 풍습이 있다.

1. Englishcomrade: A person who has the same goals or convictions.

   뜻이나 목적이 서로 같은 사람.

   • 민준은 동지들과 함께 뜻을 모아 사회 운동을 시작했다.
   • 김 선생은 민주화 항쟁에서 동지들과 함께 죽지 못하고 홀로 살아남은 것에 죄책감을 느꼈다.
