   앞의 내용이 뒤의 내용의 이유나 원인, 근거가 될 때 쓰는 말.

   • 오늘은 비가 온다. 그러므로 오늘 소풍은 내일로 연기되었다.
   • 승규는 열심히 공부를 했다. 그러므로 그는 이번 시험에는 꼭 붙을 것이다.
   • 그는 엄청난 죄를 지었다. 그러므로 그가 처벌을 받는 것은 마땅한 일이다.
